How Young Women Of Society INC. Began
Young Women of Society, Inc. was founded in 2014 by Crystal Green-Hawkins, a mother of four, with the vision of creating a safe and supportive space for young women to thrive. Crystal saw firsthand the challenges girls face in navigating today’s world and wanted to provide them with the tools to succeed. What began as small workshops in Crystal’s basement quickly grew into something much bigger, fueled by a passion to empower young women to become confident, compassionate leaders.
As the organization expanded, its mission to foster personal growth, self-respect, and leadership in young women took center stage. Through mentorship, education, and community engagement, Young Women of Society has created a strong sisterhood that uplifts and inspires. Today, the nonprofit continues to make a lasting impact by helping girls realize their potential and encouraging them to lead with purpose and confidence.

Hi Everyone! I’m Crystal Green-Hawkins, the founder of Young Women of Society, a wife, and a proud mother of four beautiful girls. As you can imagine, raising four girls made it clear to me that a safe, supportive space was essential for young women to thrive and cultivate a healthy, balanced lifestyle. In 2014, we started facilitating workshops right in our basement, not realizing how great the need was. What began as an effort to share the same love and guidance we give our daughters quickly grew into something much bigger than we could have imagined.
Inspired by the mentors who uplifted us, we’ve made it our mission to pay it forward—offering advice, encouragement, and love to the youth we work with, treating them like family along the way.
